...Golf Fun for Everyone September 12th

Is this guy a player?

...come and see.

The Game at 2 PM:  This fun-filled event is open to everyone whether or not they have played much golf.  You should arrive at the driving range at 2 PM, where you will be told the rules of the game and be part of a shot-gun start.  In brief, the game is called Lucky 13, where there are 13 par-3 holes of which teams of 4 will compete in a scramble event.  There will also be a closest to the pin contest after the game on the 11th green near the Cook’s house.  This type of event caters to all skill levels, so don’t be concerned if you think you are a bad golfer…it doesn’t really matter.  There will be token prizes for first, second, third, last places and closest to the pin.

Supporting The Pantry:  Besides being family fun, the event supports The Pantry, our local food bank which is a part of Plain Community Church.  Each player including the juniors must bring one food item (peanut butter, canned fruit, veggies, etc.) as part of his/her entry fee.  Monetary cost is minimal thanks to Kahler Glen.  Adults pay $16, while the juniors are free to play.  Each player may use one mulligan.  (If you don’t know, a mulligan allows you to not count a bad shot and hit again).  The price of a mulligan is another food item.

Sponsors Needed:  Please consider sponsoring one of the thirteen holes, paying $20 toward The Pantry.

The BBQ at 5 PM:  Norm will do a BBQ after the game at about 5 PM at the Cook’s house.  Men, women, boys and girls who did not play in the game are encouraged to attend the BBQ.  Norm asks that each family bring a salad or dessert to share with others.

Sign-up Now: Mark your calendar for Family Golf on September 12th.  Because there are tee times an exact headcount is needed; please send an email soon to thomcook@nwi.net or sign-up in the church's foyer and let us know you are coming.
