Jesus invites you to lose yourself in order to find your true self. Ephesians 4:22-24 tells us to "put off the 'old man' ... and put on the new man created according to God in true righteousness and holiness."
Marilyn Vancil, author of "Self to Lose - Self to Find," will facilitate an interactive workshop about the Enneagram personality system within this biblical framework at Plain Community Church. She will detail the nine distinct personality patterns, each with particular gifts and challenges, which can guide you to embrace the truth about your God given identity and grow in your understanding of others. . By learning about your type, you will:
"My heartfelt desire is for everyone to know they were created to experience and express the image of God in a unique and holy way. My hope is that as people access the wisdom of this typology within the framework of a scriptural perspective, they will experience more freedom and greater peace." ~Marilyn Vancil For more information marilynvancil.com. |
The Enneagram
This ancient spiritual discernment tool provides profound insights about the human personality. It reveals the core filters through which we view God, ourselves, others, and life in general. It taps into our deeper story, going below the surface to inner motivations, ardent longings, and deep sufferings.
The word Enneagram simply means “nine-drawing.” It describes 9 distinct ways we are held captive by habitual patterns, 9 underlying drives that influence why we feel, think, and act as we do, and 9 filters that determine how we react to our circumstances. Most importantly, it reveals 9 manifestations of God that each of us has been created to experience and express … and 9 ways we are held back from that. |
