October 30, 2025 - Plain Community Food Drive at Trunk of Treat!
|
Bring some canned & shelf stable or pet food to Plain's Trunk or Treat, because we are all connected!
October 31, 6:00-8:00, Plain Hardware Parking Lot. Look for a spider web trunk and signs. |
Why is this happening?
Leavenworth’s Upper Valley Mend’s (food bank) website has this synopsis of the impact of the government shutdown for our friends & neighbors. Congress did not agree to pass a bill funding federal government services past October 1, when the federal budget expired. This is affecting your neighbors in the following ways:
Many more families will be relying on local food pantries to make ends meet, but food pantries have limited food and funds to meet the need. |
October 12, 2025 - The Plain Pantry has moved!
|
|
After 16 years in the mobile home next to Plain Community Church, the Pantry has moved! There will be no break in service, thanks to a wonderful crew of volunteers who helped move everything Friday & Saturday. Of course, there was some pre-planning and pre-work that Pantry Directors Mark & Caren and a few key volunteers did, in order for the move to happen so smoothly.
We thank God for blessing this ministry in past and look forward to the coming years, continuing to serve our community of Plain. |
July 31, 2025 - Thank you Kahler Mountian Club Women's Golf League
|
On July 15, 2025 the Kahler Mountain Club Women's Golf League held their annual charity golf tournament benefiting The Plain Pantry and Lake Wenatchee Fire & Rescue. A big shout out to our own Shawna Presley and Anita Johnson for helping with the tournament and representing the Pantry. Thank you ladies!
Thank you Kahler Mountain Club Women's Golf League for including the Pantry! We so appreciate it. |

May 31, 2025 - The Pantry Community Garden
The Pantry's "Garden Planting Day" was a huge success! We had 16 volunteers working that day. We all had a great time working alongside each other, and learning so much more about planting a garden and flowers from Amy and one another. What a hard working crew we had. Thanks to all who gave their day to support the Pantry garden.
We were also so blessed to have Paul and Liz Rawlins helping and encouraging us all. They are the ones who started this garden many years ago. Mark Karnofski, Pantry Co-Director gets ready to mount a new Pantry Community Garden sign made by Andrew Campbell (Beaver Hill Woodcrafters). |

Help us bring JOY to the Christmas Table.
Thank you for your donations to help us provide Thanksgiving boxes! Truly your generosity is so appreciated. At Christmas we also provide boxes for Christmas Dinner. Gifts for the children are given, through a giving tree that can be found at Just Plain Grocery. Often we receive socks, gloves and hats as gifts for the adults. |
Operation Thanksgiving was a Great Success!
|
The Pantry had several volunteers who spent hours shopping, packing and handing out Thanksgiving boxes overflowing with food to our neighbors.
The Pantry is very thankful!

Thank you Youth Dynamics Adventure School!
The Youth Dynamics Adventure School volunteered for a work day at The Panty. They started off with a tour and asked good questions and worked with cheerful attitudes. They cleaned the garden with Paul Rawlins and washed both vans with Mark. A big thank you to Mia and Ollie O'Brien for bringing over their great group of Adventure school students.
