Anita Deyneka
Mission Eurasia/A Family for Every Orphan
There are millions of orphans and vulnerable children, who need to be able to remain with their families; be reunited with their families; or regain a new family through adoption and foster care. This can happen massively and globally as orphans find loving Christian families, in their own home countries. |
In 1991, Anita and her late husband, Peter Deyneka Jr., founded Peter Deyneka Russian Ministries (now called Mission Eurasia) just after the collapse of the Soviet Union, to react quickly and decisively to new opportunities for evangelism and church-planting in this former communist empire. Anita Deyneka, continues as a co-founder and emeritus board member of Mission Eurasia. Mission Eurasia partners with several other organizations, such as A Family For Every Orphan where Anita now serves.
To respond to the vast needs of orphaned and abandoned children in the former Soviet Union, Anita Deyneka, then president of Russian Ministries (now Mission Eurasia) initiated a project called Home for Every Orphan. This expanded into a new organization and then beyond Russia and Ukraine, to other countries. Today A Family For Every Orphan, with which Anita works, raises awareness about the plight of neglected and abandoned children in nine countries. AFFEO develops new strategies and resources for the care of orphans and vulnerable children and mobilizes national Christians to open hearts and homes to foster and adopt—answering the call to “care for orphans...in their distress.” (James 1:27) For more information see the website of A Family For Every Orphan. Anita was raised in Plain, was a member of the Plain Community Church while she lived in Plain, played the piano for worship, and continues to maintain close friendships in our community. |
Plain Community Church, through the congregation's regular offerings supports Anita's work with AFFEO through Mission Eurasia monthly. Individuals may also support Anita or the organizations she works with. To support Anita directly:

A Journey to Family
Darina and Denis: After witnessing the tragic death of their mother, Denis and Darina were placed in an orphanage. Alone and afraid, they had no family to call their own. Because of the heartbreaking circumstances surrounding their mother’s death, Denis and Darina experienced significant trauma. Denis and Darina’s time in the orphanage was cut short when a wonderful couple decided to adopt them. AFFEO supporters helped provide the children with professional psychological support, medical exams required for the adoption, and removal of a tumor-like growth on Denis’ leg. The twins are blossoming under the care of their parents and transitioning well into their new family. They love to blow bubbles with mom, watch movies with dad, and run around outside with their friends!

Rebecca: While traveling, she got lost on a train and arrived in a different state. Indian languages vary from state to state and when Rebecca ended up in South India, she couldn’t communicate she was lost with a family back home. She was placed in an orphanage for four years. While she was missing, Rebecca’s mother passed away. Her aunt and uncle adopted Rebecca’s little sister and they never stopped looking for Rebecca. Rebecca was found in early March 2018 and an urgent response was needed to fund travel and adoption costs, which AFFEO supporters helped cover. Now adopted by her aunt and uncle, Rebecca finds comfort knowing she has a family that encourages and loves her. She is sewing and making jewelry and hopes to start her own business!
