A father does not have to be gone to be absent.
Statistics support nearly all societal issues facing us today can be traced back to a child growing up in a father-absent home. But what if a father is at home, and still absent? It's what we call the silent statistic; present but not engaged. This form of absence has a significant impact too and whether it's a moment in conversation, or a season in life - it is every dad's fight. We provide ALL fathers (and father figures) with tools and opportunities to make a change. Family Lines was started in 2010 by Jon Hagedorn, inspired by Malachi 4:6 and burdened to see more fathers taking a renewed physical and spiritual role in their children's lives. Family Lines is a team of lifetime wilderness guides and filmmakers, leveraging their talents along with a passion to fight absence in fatherhood; physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Through their films, expeditions, hands-on workshops, and investment in facilitators and field instructors [aka "Dadvocates"] Family Lines capitalizes on the intentional space of fishing to challenge fathers to fight absence, choose presence and engage restoration with their children.
